Coney Island: Mermaid parade

The Mermaid Parade has existed in Coney Island, New York, since 1983. It is the official opening of summer in the city and ends with a music festival. Admission is free, unless you want to walk in the parade itself (info).

We headed to Coney Island on a summer day to admire the mermaids, Neptunians and other creations, on this page we show you some photos. The nice thing was that not only was the parade beautifully dressed up, many spectators were also completely themed. After the parade, we went into a few attractions that reminded us of the many films that took place here. Afterwards, we shook our legs loose at the music festival.

Are you going to New York in June and want to experience this fun festival? You can find all the info about the next edition on their website.

Mermaid Parade really is a must-do if you are in New York in June!
