Heading to the amazing Koh Phangan, but not for the famous Full Moon Party? Great idea!
Koh Phangan is rightly known as a party island, offering some of the best events. However, the island’s biggest and most famous party—the Full Moon Party—may not always be considered the best by regular visitors. If you’d prefer not to share the beach with 30,000 people, but still want to enjoy great techno or house music, whether on the beach or in the jungle, keep on reading. We’ve listed all the best parties happening in Koh Phangan in 2025.
Sadly, not all party events survived the pandemic, but we’ll highlight those that are still going strong in this blog.
The Southwest of Koh Phangan: Best Parties
Haad Rin: The Perfect Base?
Haad Rin (or Hat Rin) is famous for the Full Moon Party, but did you know it’s also a great place to stay outside of this massive event? The area has plenty of laid-back (beach) bars to grab a drink, delicious restaurants, and fun shops. It’s a place where you don’t necessarily need a scooter to enjoy the vibe. Plus, Haad Rin Beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or playing beach volleyball.
If you want to escape the hustle, a ten-minute walk will take you to the peaceful and stunning Leela Beach. Just one kilometre away from Haad Rin, it’s the ideal spot to catch a beautiful sunset.
So, aside from the Full Moon Party, Haad Rin is a lively place to stay, and also the perfect base for some of the island’s best parties, which we’ll share below.
See that beach over there? That’s Haad Yuan, home to the popular Eden Garden and Bambu Jungle Lounge clubs. This view is from the viewpoint after a relatively challenging hike to get there.

The Paradise Beach of Haad Yuan
Haad Yuan is the hidden gem next to Haad Rin, but it’s not the easiest to reach. You either have to take a boat or embark on a challenging hike to get there (more on that later).
Here, you can find two popular and mysterious party spots: Eden Garden and Bambu Jungle Lounge, both offering incredible views.
Eden Garden
Eden Garden opens its doors every Saturday from 8:00 PM, and the parties typically last until sunrise. It’s often referred to as Koh Phangan’s “best-kept secret.” The venue is known for its laid-back, mystical vibe. It’s important to note that, much like some Berlin clubs, no photos or videos are allowed inside. Be sure to check their Facebook page for the latest updates on events.
Eden Garden’s reputation as a unique and secretive spot makes it a must-see for those seeking a memorable night out on the island.
Bambu Jungle Lounge
Bambu Jungle Lounge is known for its relaxing Sunday Sessions, making it the perfect spot to dance away your Sunday afternoon, or even as an after-party following Eden Garden. With an incredible view of Haad Yuan Beach, the lounge offers a fantastic atmosphere for unwinding and enjoying the vibes. To stay updated on their events, make sure to follow Bambu’s Instagram.
About Haad Yuan
Please note that Haad Yuan Beach does not have an ATM, so make sure to bring enough cash with you.
Since the beach is harder to access, and lacks many facilities, we recommend staying in Haad Rin instead, which is more convenient. For a hotel that offers great value for money, Tommy Resort is an excellent option, located directly on the beach.
Techno & Ban Tai
Oxa Beach
Techno lovers, Oxa Beach could become your favourite spot! Every Wednesday, and three days before the Full Moon Party, the festivities kick off at 3 PM on the beach. Expect great techno beats, often spun by international DJs from Berlin or Ibiza.
Samsara
Another popular beach club in Ban Tai where techno and tech-house are played is Samsara. Keep an eye on their Facebook for upcoming events.
Guy’s Bar
Guy’s Bar, a well-known spot on Koh Phangan, previously located on Haad Yuan, has now moved to Ban Tai. You can find all their events on Facebook as well.
MAYA Koh Phangan
Finally, we can’t forget MAYA Koh Phangan, a top spot for those who love deep house music. All their upcoming events can be found on their Facebook page.
Where to stay?
Most clubs in Ban Tai are just 3 kilometers from Haad Rin, making Haad Rin a perfect base for these parties. If you’re looking for a quieter stay between Thong Sala and Ban Tai, consider checking out the Sea Love Bungalows, known for their idyllic setting.
Koh Phangan: Jungle parties
CULT Festival, Waterfall Party, Retro Mountain, and Half Moon Festival are all located close to each other along the same road. They all have excellent reviews, but play slightly different types of music.
CULT Festival
CULT Festival is a weekly event with great visuals and performances, playing melodic, minimal, and progressive techno. It has a great vibe, and people dance until sunrise. For the latest event updates, check their Facebook page .
Half Moon Festival
Half Moon Festival feels like a real festival with three different stages featuring house, techno, and R&B music. It happens twice a month, once a week before and once a week after the Full Moon Party. Check their website for updated dates and tickets.
Jungle Experience
Jungle Experience takes place the day before the Full Moon Party and mainly plays underground house music. The next event can be found on their Facebook page.
Waterfall Party
Waterfall Party is one of the more popular parties on Koh Phangan, focusing on techno, house, and minimal. Check their website for upcoming events.
Retro Mountain
At Retro Mountain, you’ll dance to a mix of house, indie dance, and tech music. For event dates, check their Facebook page.
Where to stay?
All these jungle parties are located about 8 kilometres from Haad Rin. If you want to stay closer, Baan Tai village is the best option.
Wherever you stay, songthaews (shared taxis) run to all parts of the island, so you don’t have to worry about getting back to your hotel!
Parties in the Northwest of Koh Phangan
The northern part of Koh Phangan is known for its tranquility. It’s the area of the island where most digital nomads live, with numerous yoga studios and wellness retreats, as well as some of the most beautiful beaches.
If you want to fully immerse yourself in the yoga vibe, Zen Beach is a must-visit. You can enjoy a spiritual evening during sunset, surrounded by hippies, yogis, and nomads.
While the north isn’t the place for non-stop techno parties, the few events you can find here are definitely worth attending!
Sunset party at Haad Yao
Every Wednesday, Seaboard Bungalows hosts a fantastic sunset party on Haad Yao Beach.
The perfect evening starts with cocktails on the beach, where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunset. After that, you can explore the hippie market before dancing to great house music.
Whether you’re dancing outside with your feet in the sand or inside, the atmosphere and great music are guaranteed!
The Seaboard Bungalows Beach Bar also has an attached resort, where you can stay overnight. If you prefer a quieter place to sleep while still being close to the fun, check out High Life Bungalows. It’s a peaceful alternative. You can also easily reach Haad Yao from other beaches like Haad Maad and Haad Salad.
More than just techno at Hollystone
If you enjoy a variety of music, Hollystone might be the place for you. They play EDM, hip-hop, techno, pop, folk, and rock. For the latest event details, visit their Facebook page. Hollystone is not located on the beach but sits on a beautiful hill inland.

The party list is even longer…
On Koh Phangan, there are extra events beyond the well-known spots. You can find them in the Facebook group ‘Samui/Phangan Party Guide’.
It’s also a good idea to keep an eye on websites like ‘Phanganist‘ & ‘Phangan.events‘.
No matter when you visit Koh Phangan, there’s always something happening. Some clubs close during the rainy season, so make sure to check if the event is still on.
What does alcohol cost at the parties on Koh Phangan?
Alcohol in Thailand is relatively expensive. In the south of Thailand, especially on the islands, it can be a little more expensive. You might expect the prices at parties to be even higher.
However, we found the prices to be quite reasonable. A cocktail costs about 240 baht (€6.50). A (small) bottle of Chang beer costs around 100 to 150 baht (€2.70 – €4). We didn’t check wine prices, but generally, wine is about twice as expensive as beer in Thailand.
Drinking alcohol at Koh Phangan parties isn’t super cheap, but these prices are also common in local cafes. The beer price is usually the same in most cafes, but cocktails can vary a lot in price. You can find cocktails for 150 baht, but the alcohol content will be lower. A bucket costs about 200 baht, and you can usually choose from whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, with a mixer like Schweppes, Coca-Cola, Sprite, juice, or soda.
We stayed at Haad Rin because it’s one of the few places where you don’t need a scooter. If you do rent a scooter, be extra careful, as the island is known for tourists and locals driving under the influence of alcohol or cannabis.
